Held at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Creation Centre, Constellations features five original ensemble pieces choreographed by a roster of innovative artists: Naomi Brand, Andrea Cownden, Cheyenne Seary, Lance Lim, Kevin Li, Danielle Wensley, and Harmanie Rose.
Each piece invites audiences into a distinct world. Between Us & Them, by Brand, tackles societal division, while Seary’s Cassiopeia reflects on motherhood and transformation with imagery of care and connection. Lim and Li’s dynamic work, created with dancers from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside community, plays with energetic shifts, exploring the fluidity and power within each body. Lumina showcases young neurodivergent dancers from Ready Dance Youth Project, and Cownden’s improvised work brings together an intergenerational cast in a spontaneous celebration of movement.
As BC’s only fully inclusive dance company, All Bodies Dance Project is dedicated to radically inclusive performances. Through scent-reduced spaces, ASL interpretation, relaxed performances, and a sliding-scale pay model, Constellations embodies the organization’s commitment to accessibility and community engagement in the arts.
