Sierra Megas (she/her)

Facilitator

Sierra Megas is an artist, arts worker and settler of Chinese, English, and Eastern European ancestry, living on traditional and stolen Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh territory. Sierra began dancing by attending community dance classes in 2018. Her training is rooted in Contact Improvisation and contemporary dance, and she is indebted to her earliest teachers and mentors: Peter Bingham, Emmalena Fredriksson, Alexa Mardon, Erika Mitsuhashi, Olivia Shaffer, and Rianne Svelnis, all of whom opened her up to dance as a lifelong practice of continual presence and endless inquiry.

Sierra brings people together and supports dance education and performance as a manager at EDAM (Experimental Dance and Music) and as part of the team at Boombox. With Natalie Tin Yin Gan, she co-organizes EDAM’s BIPOC Contact Improvisation Classes & Jams. She performs occasionally, and sometimes makes sculptures, textiles, and drawings.

Sierra completed All Bodies Dance Project’s DancingWITH Teaching Exchange in 2025, and is excited to continue dancing in community as a facilitator.
