Kevin Jesuino (he/him)

Collaborator

Kevin Jesuino is a first-generation settler multi-disciplinary performer, educator, movement coach, arts facilitator, LGBTQ+ activist, and community organizer of Portuguese heritage. His work is oftentimes collaborative, site-specific, participatory, and process-oriented. His practice explores relationality, the stories within our bodies, and the queer joy of uncertainty. He draws from research in queer performance, queer ecology, body memory, improvisation, community & participatory art practices, placemaking, and site adaptive/responsive performance.  His community-embedded projects engage participants in performative actions, discussions, creative interventions, activations, and other forms of organizing. Kevin completed their Theatre Arts diploma at MacEwan University and their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts at the University of British Columbia - Okanagan. They are currently completing their Master of Fine Arts in Contemporary Arts (with a focus on devised performance and socially engaged art) at Simon Fraser University. Kevin is incredibly grateful to be able to live, work, play and move through multiple lands traditionally called Amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton, Alberta), Mohkinstis (Calgary, Alberta), Sik-Ooh-Kotok (Lethbridge, AB) along with the unceded traditional territories of the  xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations (Vancouver, BC).
